Located in the heart of the Maasai Mara in Kenya, Emboo River is a luxurious and sustainable eco-camp that offers guests a unique safari experience. The camp operates using a closed-loop system, relying on local resources to run its operations. Emboo River’s commitment to sustainability is deeply rooted in its DNA, making it an ideal destination for eco-conscious travellers. The idea to launch the lodge was sparked by witnessing the negative impact of traditional safari lodges on the ecosystem and communities. The Emboo River team brought the place back to life by combining innovation, technology and traditional techniques, creating the first carbon-neutral safari lodge in the region.

The tent menu allows you to customize your sleeping experience, with options for a fully closed, half-closed, or fully open tent with only the mosquito net down.

The en-suite bathrooms come with a rain shower and running hot water 24/7, thanks to solar heaters. Custom-made bathroom appliances by luxury brand Kenny & Mason and eco-conscious toiletries by Cinnabar Green provide an extra touch of luxury.

How To Get There

Emboo River can be reached by air or road. It’s a 45-minute flight from Nairobi to Ol Kiombo Airstrip, followed by a 45-minute drive to the camp. Alternatively, it’s a 5-6 hour drive from Nairobi.
