Lake Elementaita Lodge
Log fires, an open courtyard and a façade that retains the history of the Kikopey Ranch, the Jacaranda Lake Elementaita Lodge is a place of tranquility and quiet in a world that does not often offer such respite.
Built in 1916 by Lord Galbraith Cole, the lodge is a testament to refined taste and old world splendour set amongst bougainvillea and century old trees that serve as a backdrop to the Lake Elementaita.
The lodge has 33 tastefully furnished twin, double and triple rooms. Each of the rooms has a fireplace and a private bath/shower. The balcony contains an individual seating area with a view of the lush flowered gardens. Valets provide 24-hour room service for those seeking a relaxing stay in the privacy of their rooms.
The lodge is famous for hosting cultural and religious events, weddings and sporting activities. It is a perfect setting for hosting team building activities as well. Visitors to the lodge get a chance to experience nature walks to the lake and hot springs. They get to view more than 500 species of birds. Experience adventure by taking a trip to Kariandusi prehistoric site and game drives to Lake Nakuru National Park, Hell’s Gate, Lake Naivasha and Lake Bogoria. Camping facilities are available.
In addition, horse riding, balloon safaris and game drives to the Lake Nakuru National park can be organised by the lodge’s guest relations officer.
Enjoy warm hospitality with both traditional and international cuisine from the main restaurant, Lord Cole. With a variety of à la carte to buffet menus, excellent service is guaranteed in all the restaurants and bars. There is also an extended terrace area with a panoramic view of Lake Elementaita. This is a perfect spot to watch the sunset while enjoying cocktails from the Lord Cole Bar.
The lodge offers a perfect setting for conferences in a relaxed country atmosphere. The ultramodern Flamingo conference facility can accommodate up to 70 people in a variety of configurations. Conference amenities such as audio visual equipment, LCD projector, flipchart and stationery come as standard. A photocopier, PA system, computers and printers are available for hire at an extra cost.
