Lake Elementaita Lodge

Nakuru

Lake Elementaita Lodge, derived from "Muteita" a Maasai name meaning 'dusty place' was built by an English settler Lord Gabraith Cole early 1961's.

The 33 roomed Lodge still retains the feature and atmosphere of an early colonial home with, red brick building and a shady terrace overlooking the famous Lake Elementaita.

Primarily a tourist destination the lodge is home to over 400 species of birds, the only Lodge on the bed of the rift valley where you can combine bird watching, nature walks, game drives, and a balloon safari.

We cater for business travelers as well!

"If you get the business traveler to visit you once, and you have what they need - phones, internet connectivity, a conference room and fax available - they will come back."

The idea of a bush champagne breakfast is a dream to many; we make it happen at Lake Elementaita Lodge. That does it for a perfect honeymoon, or the unique proposal, or even better makes a perfect wedding venue.

The kids are fully entertained by our animators with swimming activities, horse riding, a visit to the Rosalu farm which is home to the friendliest ostriches and the oldest tortoise and a breed of the rare Barton Chicken... thus a perfect weekend getaway!
